Merger FAQs
Pelle Ohlsson, president and CEO of Lasermax Roll Systems, answers questions on the recent merger of Roll Systems with Stralfors Lasermax.
Questions naturally arise after a merger and we wanted to reassure our customers and partners about their ongoing relationships with us. Pelle Ohlsson, president and CEO of Lasermax Roll Systems, answers these questions.
What is the legal nature of the merger?
Roll Systems Inc. and Stralfors Lasermax division have been combined into Lasermax Roll Systems. The parent company Lasermax Roll Systems AB is jointly owned by Böwe Systec and Strålfors.
As a customer, what benefits can I expect from the merger?
There are several: First, you now have a single source to solve virtually any high-speed paper handling problem you face. Second, by combining our engineering and technology resources, customers can expect a steady stream of new products and exciting solutions going forward. Third, where alternative solutions are already available, you can expect an unbiased recommendation to address your application need.
Who are the new executives at Lasermax Roll Systems?
As mentioned in the introduction, I have been named president and chief executive officer of Lasermax Roll Systems. Bill Carroll, ex-president of Roll Systems, is now President of Lasermax Roll Systems in the Americas. Jeff Kewin, former president of Stralfors USA, has been named executive vice president of worldwide marketing and business development for Lasermax Roll Systems.
Where will the new company be headquartered?
The corporate headquarters for Lasermax Roll Systems is in Ljungby, Sweden. The headquarters of Lasermax Roll Systems Americas is in Burlington, Massachusetts, USA. We also maintain offices in Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Singapore.
How are sales being managed around the world?
Lasermax Roll Systems in Sweden will manage sales and service operations for both the ex-Lasermax and ex-Roll Systems product lines everywhere outside the Americas. Lasermax Roll Systems Americas will manage sales and service for both product lines within the Americas.
In my country there was a direct sales organization for both Stralfors Lasermax and Roll Systems - will my sales representative change?
In most cases, no. Vital relationships will remain in place and we will minimize other changes. Similarly, we expect no impact on our selling partnerships. As we combine sales forces, some account management responsibilities may change to fit redefined territories.
Suppose I have "Roll" equipment in the USA and end up with a "Lasermax" rep? Or, vice-versa?
In the USA, we have developed an internal partnering system (with "Lasermax" reps available to "Roll" customers, and vice versa) to make sure each customer continues to receive the expertise they're used to.
In my country there was no direct sales organization for either Lasermax or Roll Systems - equipment was sold through a distributor. Will my distributor change?
Possibly. We are in the process of evaluating existing distributor relationships, and hope to announce ongoing arrangements soon. Of course, we will work very hard to ensure that any inconvenience to our customers is kept to an absolute minimum.
Are any changes planned in the new company's relationship with its printer partners?
Only that we expect these relationships to be stronger than ever.
Will there be any change in how my Roll or Lasermax equipment is serviced?
For those who do not receive service from a Roll or Lasermax distributor, no, you will continue to receive your primary service support from your existing maintenance organization. And, Lasermax-experienced and Roll-experienced service technicians will continue to stand behind this front line organization, providing support when required.
For those who do receive service from a Roll or Lasermax distributor, the answer to this question will again depend upon the determination of ongoing distributor arrangements. Where there are changes, you may rest assured that the first priority during the transition time will be to ensure that customers suffer absolutely no disruption in service.
Where can I get more information?
Talk with your sales representative, or write to me directly. I'd be happy to answer your questions, and address any issues or concerns you may have. |
