Print On Demand Users Applaud LX Stack System
Burlington, MA (August 30, 2007) – The Lasermax Roll Systems LX Stack solution, designed for cutting and stacking print on demand output from high-speed continuous digital printers, has been installed at a number of book and commercial printers in recent months, including Integrated Book Technology (IBT) of Troy, NY; Jasmine Jade of Akron, OH; and Sterling Pierce of East Rockaway, NY.
Jasmine Jade, a printer and publisher of romance novels, installed the LX Stack on their Océ VarioStream 7400 twin printers.
“The key for us was the tight coordination between Océ and Lasermax Roll Systems,” said Brian Greenwell, vice president of information technology for Jasmine Jade. “Plus, LX Stack’s cutter/stacker combo is one of the best available – it just performs and performs and performs.”
“Because LX Stack is so easy to use and trouble free, we require fewer operators,” added Bill Clockel, vice president of technology for digital book manufacturer IBT, after they recently added the LX Stack to their Océ VarioStream 7650 printers.
Commercial printer Sterling Pierce has been serving the publishing community for nearly 30 years, recently with the help of the LX Stack (along with other Lasermax Roll Systems equipment) installed on their two Océ DemandStream 8090DI digital printers.
The LX Stack handles sheets up to 18” long, in a broad range of basis weights down to 11 pound bond (40 gsm), at speeds up to 450 feet per minute. The system forms stacks for near-line or off-line finishing, and also has a bypass function to allow delivery of sheets to an in-line finishing device such as a signature folder or stitcher, for those needing flexible print on demand configurations.
The LX Stack will be exhibited alongside the Lasermax Roll Systems Web Vision™ quality assurance system at the Lasermax Roll booth #2641 at the upcoming Graph Expo show in Chicago, September 9-12.
