Highly Automated Bulk Fanfold System Shown by Lasermax Roll Systems at On Demand '08
Burlington, MA (February 27, 2008) – The Lasermax Roll Systems RS Fanfold HS system is being shown in a pair of locations at this week’s On Demand show in Boston, a highlight of the extensive Lasermax Roll Systems presence around the On Demand exhibit floor. RS Fanfold HS is an in-line bulk fanfolding solution for high-speed continuous digital printers, featuring the new RSF5 Folder. Visitors to the show will see the system building vertical stacks of fanfold forms up to 39” high in both the Lasermax Roll Systems booth (#1267) and the Océ booth (#1217).
At the Lasermax Roll Systems booth, the highly automated RSF5 Folder is being shown running a two-up statement application. Thread-up, forms size changes and stack ejection are all automatic. The folder runs pinless or pinfed paper, at speeds up to 700 feet per minute. Tall stacks allow both long printer and inserter runs with a minimum of operator attention required. A small footprint allows use of the RS Fanfold HS even in crowded print rooms. The Lasermax Roll Systems Web Vision system is running in-line with the RS Fanfold HS. Web Vision uses high-resolution cameras to scan the full web width to capture very large, high quality images to enable automated analysis of data integrity, workflow processes and image quality.
Also in the Lasermax Roll booth, an RS Stack solution is producing 3-up book blocks suitable for near-line binding. The RS Stack system shown includes Strip Cut option, which economically cuts and removes a variable length strip of paper between sheets. Strip cut enables removal of registration marks or perforations, or the creation of bleed sheets. In the Océ booth, RS Fanfold HS provides pre- and post-processing for the new Océ VarioStream® 8750 printing system.
Elsewhere around the show floor, the DocuSheeter NV cuts and feeds sheets from a roll to the new Xerox Nuvera™ 288 in the Xerox booth (#1449). DocuSheeter NV maximizes productivity for this high-speed cut sheet printer, feeding 60,000 sheets or more from a single 50” diameter roll for hours of non-stop operation with minimal operator attention.
In the InfoPrint Solutions booth (#647), an LX Stack cuts and stacks printed output from an InfoPrint® 4100 MD1/MD2 digital printing system. LX Stack handles 1-up, 2-up, 2-up merged or 3-up streams of sheets in basis weights as light as 11# bond (40 gsm).
In the Screen booth (#457), Screen’s new Truepress Jet520 color inkjet variable printing system is partnered with the LX Roll-to-Roll.
In the CP Bourg booth (#1249), LX Saddle Stitch partners with the IBIS Smart-binder to produce saddle-stitched booklets from roll paper, demonstrating a complete in-line booklet binding system available for continuous digital printers.
