Before Stralfors Lasermax and Roll Systems merged to form Lasermax Roll Systems in 2004, each company was a leader of innovation and technology in feeding and finishing solutions for high-speed digital printers.

StrAlfors Lasermax Division
Strålfors AB was founded in 1919. The Lasermax division was developed in 1985, eventually becoming a prominent supplier of high-speed paper handling systems for digital printers worldwide. The Lasermax division was headquartered in Ljungby, Sweden with subsidiaries in USA, Belgium, UK, and Singapore.

  • 1984 The Unwinder 50 is developed
  • 1985 The Folder 90 is created and the very first Lasermax line is sold to New England Telephone in the U.S.
  • 1991 Stralfors develops microprocessor-controlled products
  • 1993 The Cutter 161 CD is introduced
  • 1996 Lasermax products become compatible for
    Print On Demand
  • 2001 The LX500 product line is made available
  • 2002 UP3i universal printer, pre- and post-processing interface introduced

Roll Systems
Roll Systems, founded in 1987 and headquartered in Burlington, MA, USA, developed into North America’s largest manufacturer of high-speed paper handling, converting and monitoring systems for digital printers. Its products have been sold and serviced in over 50 countries.

Important Events in Roll Systems History

  • 1987 The first Roll Unwinder is sold
  • 1990 Originally called LaserSheeter, the DocuSheeter is introduced
  • 1993 Böwe Systec agrees to distribute Roll products in much of Europe
  • 1994 AutoLoad System and EdgeWise Pinless processing are introduced
  • 2003 Roll is named as Xerox's finishing partner of the year, post-sale support, for the first of three consecutive years
